Polly O’Loughlin, Festival Director
The Board of International Puppet Festival Ireland were delighted to announce the appointment of Polly O’Loughlin as Festival Director in June 2011. Familiar in Dun Laoghaire as Artistic Director of Pavilion Theatre (2001-2007) where she championed the field of physical theatre, mask theatre, puppetry and dance, Polly will manage all aspects of this year’s Festival which has been programmed by John McCormick and Miriam Lambert.
Polly worked off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop and Classic Stage Company in New York in the 90s and spent five years as Marketing and Box Office Manager at Project Arts Centre, Dublin. She also runs Company SJ, a theatre production company currently touring Samuel Beckett’s Act Without Words 11.
2012 sees the 21st anniversary of International Puppet Festival Ireland and, along with sharing programming of the 21st Festival, Polly is looking forward to organising a special exhibition on puppetry at the RDS in March 2012 to be held in memory of the late great Eugene Lambert.
